Two weeks

I'll be home in two weeks. Mixed feelings, like everytime I leave people and places I love to come home to people I love. But alas, I want to know who will be in Temecula for the Holidays? I want to surf, eat burritas, drink eggnog and laugh. No strong leads right now. Things are great here though, going to the western wall in a few to welcome in the Sabbath with a bunch of Jews, which is awesome and hilarious. Navid Crall probably didn't learn anything on his mission, but I'm stoked to see him. Moving to Provo, looking for a yob.

Joe, just punch them in the face

You could switch their salt and sugar. Put icy-hot in their underwear. Eat all their food and then take a saught in their closet. Put Dish washing soap (the kind you put on a sponge to wash dishes with your hands) in their dishwasher and turn it on....bubbles everywhere! Trust me, i did it once when we ran out of dishwasher liquid. I thought that cuz their both dishwashing soaps, that they could be interchangeable, but i was very wrong.

Here Yoe

In the wee early hours of the morning (2-4am), collect snow and build it up against their front door.  Make sure you pack it in nice and tight (thats what she said).  Then proceed to spray cold water over the snow so that it ices over and completely shuts them into their apartment, thus rendering any chance of escape impossible.

Suggestions for yoe

Get all their plates and place them on their beds then fill them with piss, so when they go to move them it spills. Also, put popcorn in their microwave then put it on for like 10 minutes so the whole place smells. Crisco every knob in their apartment. Then, cut all their tampons in half.

Help

So these dumb ace girls in my apartment complex wanted to start a prank war with our apartment. we were hesitant at first but now its ON!!!! i woke to find our kitchen covered in leaves and fridge and freezer filled with leaves and they drizzled some sort of batter/glue over it all! took us 2 hrs to clean up. do you guys know of any good pranks to get them back?

Turkey Surf

The trophy that I won at Ryan's pre-wedding surf contest has gone uncontested for far too long. So i purpose we do an annual turkey surf contest. I am asuming that most of you are coming down this way for thanksgiving. I think it'd be fun to do instead of the turkey bowl or the Guyer bowl. Thoughts?

Big Lead Cut

So with the new announcement that sisters can serve when they are 19 I feel like my lead pool will suffer significantly. Already, there are like 10 girls here in the center who are stoked and planning on going and they are 19 and 20 years old. Just a thought.

Brand New

Heres my experience i had with the people i went to the concert with.
Mistake #1: i get in the car to drive up to the show and there already playing brand new.
Mistake #2: one of the kids says "i wish there were more punk bands around these days"
i ask" what exactly would you consider punk?"
"you know bands like my chemical romance and stuff"
Mistake #3: we get in the car to drive home and he blares kanye west for the next 45 minutes back to provo
Mistake #4: 2P2GAS!!!

Lead Leeeevrage

Good form Yoe. I litterally LOLed at home, by myself. I'm sure that the first impression you made of taking out that deal like some sort of nacho libre wrestler, will attract many leads who want a life of potential domestic violence.

Married people are chicken dicks

So at FHE on monday with my new ward we were playing this game called kissing rugby. the objective is to stop a girl from kissing(cheek.. we're at byu) some other dude who is sitting indian style on the other side of the field meanwhile your objective is to kiss the girl that your racing against on the cheek. looser takes the dudes place who was sitting indian style.it is actually a very physical game and so once lacey(the girl i was matched up against) took off running towards the dude seated indian style, i ran after her, my animal-like reflexes kicked in and i picked her up double legged her, pile driving her into the grass. FML. felt like the biggest jerk but hey, she signed up for the game and i got the last laugh and the kiss on her cheek. Hopefully there will be some new leads in my new ward, passed up a lot of hawt girls in my last ward but hopefully i won't be such a pussy this time round.
Signing out, Joe

Sliding Rock Lever

So, on Mondee a bunch of us got together to participate in some Labor Day festivities.  We drove up to Alpine and slid down a natural water slide in some pretty freezing water.  We all had a good time but there were some bumps and bruises as a result.  nbd really.  Following that, we came back to our place and played volleyball and had a BBQ.  It was a fun afternoon/night.  Here are some pics and a video of the day. :)

8 months = San Diego Bound

It's been a long time since I've given any updates on here about school, work, and life.  Most of you know I did and internship this summer with Ernst and Young down in San Diego.  It was an awesome opportunity and truly a blessing.  They have offered me a full-time position once I have graduated, and we have decided that is the best option for our family so we have already formally accepted the offer! We are super stoked to finish up here in Utah and get back to southern California asap.  Emma just finished up her semester today, and has only 1 more left before graduating with her bachelors degree in  Dental Hygiene.  She is a champ and just continues to pound through her schooling.  So basically  the next 8 months are quite life changing, Emma graduates, I graduate, move to San Diego area (not sure exactly where yet, but want to stay close to the office in La Jolla prolly) and start my career.  It's crazy, but we are super excited to start this next phase in life.

Surf Surf Surf

It's Tuesday, and Hooze and I have surfed 6 times since Thursday. He came over on Wednesday last week and stayed till today. We caught some great waves and had a hoot. Also, we went body surfing a couple of times to try out my new creation (photographed below). Body surfing is actually really fun, and the hand plane works really well. Can't wait to surf with Nave Yarman this week.
And here's Jack, stoked to try heem out.

i pay for 9 holes but play 18

I would like to make a public statement and let the FGB know that I'm sorry for drinking my water with a straw also for eating my pizza with a fork and a knife. I know how much this may of hurt you to see a potential candidate throw everything away for temporary satisfaction. I hope that one day you can look over my mishaps and that i could possibly get put back onto the list. Thanks. Joe

BBQ, Drive-In and Activities

Last night was pretty hilarious. The Jarmans, Stowells and Alex and I all had a bbq at jeffe's, went swimming and then went to a drive-in movie.  It cost $14 for each couple to go see two movies (Total Recall and then The Amazing Spiderman). SMOKIN' deal.  Here are a few pics from the night.  Those of you who will be in Utah soon should go and do the drive-in deal.  Its pretty sweet.

I'm stoked to go home and see the family and surf and see you idiots. Hopefully I find a lead in Jerusalem. Can't wait for burritas!

Barrel of My Life

Tuesday, Newport Beach, dawn patrol, final day of Fabiola hurricane swell. It was like 3-5 occasional 6' racy lefts that we're SUPER hallow. I took this 6' left that lined up really well. I got tones of speed and pulled into the barrel, completely untouched, and travelled in it for at least 6-8 seconds! It seriously felt like what I imagine indo or Fiji is like. There were guys down the line up cheering me on cuz it was soooo sick. Didn't quite make it out though, but still super stoked.

3 Times if it was Hooze

That's pretty neat guys. I hiked once. So last week's Tuesdee, I went surfing at O-side harbor just south of the North Jeddie and it was fun and I trunked it. As I was walking out at about mid to upper shin, I kicked something. I looked down to see what it was, and it was a freaking stingray! Then I cast my eyes round about, and I was in the midst of a SWARM of stingrays! Right in the middle of 15-20 of 'em!The waves were pushing them around and I had to jump and jig and dance my way back to the sand. Amazingly, I didn't even get stung, but if I were Hooze, at least 3 times. Also, my surfing frequency of late has gone from like once every week and a half to at least 3 times a week....stoked. And Fabio has brought us some surf this last week and it makes me :)

Hiked Mt. Timp With Dudes

Tim, Joe and I just hiked Mt. Timpanogos this past weekend.  Many of you prolly have already seen pics on facebook, but I thought I'd share a couple more with you.  Mt. Timpanogos is the second tallest mountain in Utah (close to 12,000 ft.) so it had a pretty remarkable view at the top.  We started hiking on Friday night at 6:37pm and set up camp at around 9:15pm. We awoke the following morning at 3:30am and finished hiking to the summit just in time for the sunrise.  I want to do more hikes like this.  It was so sick being out in nature and just taking in the beauty God created for us.  Life is great.

I was gunna add these pics on facebook but I just decided not to.  Sorry Tim it would just be too much money.

French Fries IN THEM

I had 3 of those burritas yesterday for breakfast.  It really hit the spot.

Anyway, it's been a good while since i've posted about my life on here so i'll just go ahead and fill you all in.  Last week Alex's family drove up here and stayed the week at my parents cabin.  It was sweet.  Our boat is up here so we took it out three times and got tons of wake surfing in.  We also went downhill mountain biking in Park City which makes me want to go buy one of those bikes now.  SO FUN.  But ya, the whole week was so great to just be hanging with Alex and her family.  I'm so blessed to have great in-laws who I enjoy being around.  I cant imagine being married to a woman and not getting along with her family.

I've been super busy with work and school lately.  I have been taking classes non stop for about the past 6 semesters.  Sucks.  I'm sick of school.  Luckily I'll be all done by this next April.

My Dad, Joe and I are flying to Tanzania in exactly a month from today to hike Mt. Kilimanjaro.  I am so stoked about that.  I'm just gunna liesten to that Africa song by Toto the whole time.  I recently purchased a pocket video camera so I'm planning on documenting the trip and editing it for you all to view.  It's gunna be a trip of a lifetime!

Well, there are a ton of other things I could post about but I'll just leave it at that for now.  I just want you all to know how lucky and blessed I am to be married to the best girl alive.  I encourage all of you who aren't married yet to get out there and work on it.  I have never felt so much joy and happiness in my life since being married.  The blessings are endless.  Keep your heads high and dont get down when leads dont work out!

Lost another lead

Got this message from Kallie last night:
"hey paul. i have had something on my mind for the past couple of weeks and i need to talk to you about it. i am starting to realize that you may have stronger feelings for me than i thought you did. please correct me if i am wrong but my intuition tells me this is true. i just have to be completely clear with you in that i don't think of you as more than a friend. i think you are an incredible person and i enjoy talking to you so much but i honestly thought that our feelings were mutual in the sense that you only thought of me as a good friend too. this is extremely difficult to say because you are the last person i would ever want to hurt. i really value our friendship and you as an individual. i have learned so many things from you and have enjoyed spending time with you. if i have lead you to believe that i have stronger feelings for you, i am truly sorry. i also apologize for disclosing this through a facebook message but i didn't have the guts to confront you about this over the phone or in person when you come to utah. when you do come, i still would really like to see you. however, if you feel otherwise, i understand. i do hope we can remain friends.
-kallie
p.s. if i have been mislead please let me know."

I said her intuition was right and some other bullsh.

I'm over losing leads, it pisses me right off. We had skyped the night before and everything was great. I keep either getting Clonts'ed or Hooze it and its getting really old.

In other news, I got called as the first counselor in the Elder's Quorum Presidency. I've been doing some sweet hikes and cool adventures seeing that I leave the Island in a month. I'm doing sales for a solar company and should be making some good money here. Jerusalem is going well, just finalizing my loans so I can pay for it. that's about it.

Dave, Ryan, and Matt really need to get their thumbs out of their asses and write on this blog.

Oh Hey There

It's been a while. Hooze, that vid of the chinachildren was amazing; enjoyed every second of it, especially the choreography. To update on my life, I'm still working at FedEx but am looking for another yob cuz it's gonna be a very long time before I can get a full-time position there. I applied and interviewed at Synergy Companies for a tech position in the OC area. It went well and it sounded like I pretty much had it in the bag, but I called a few days ago to check up on it and he said he doesn't know yet and that I should call back in 2 weeks and he'll have an answer for me. So....dunno what that means. Jackson is funny. He's moving around so much now that he's thinning out and losing the baby chub (sorry FGB, his potential was fleeting). He's prolly just a couple weeks from walking now. I've been trying to surf more lately. Joe and I had a fun sesh at O-side harbor, yea, the harbor was Joe's idea and I was shocked. The we had dank burritas at Alfredo's. I also surfed early this morning with my next-door neighbor. It was really fun and we're gonna start doing early morning surfing a few times a week....stoked. Still a college student at BYUI. Still love yogurt (just shared one with jackson a few minutes ago).

Ever consider this?

So the song T&C, i believe your all familiar with.... could it possibly stand for Town and Country surfboards? Eddie surfs, maybe he rode a T&C board. coincidence? i think not.

I'll post...

It has been a while since I last posted. I just finished my last final of the Spring term. It was for my Theories of International Relations class. Prolly good. Anyways, life is good right now. Brit and I went home this last weekend. It felt so good to get away from school for a bit. Also, the waves were fun, the water was warm,  and the burritahs were delicious. So I will not be taking any BYU classes for the summer term. Instead, I am taking an LSAT prep course to help me get ready for the LSAT in October. That test pretty much determines where I go to law school.
We also got our first calling in our ward here in Provo! Brit and I are the Sunday school teachers for the 12-13 year olds. There are a bunch of loud, filthy, and annoying children in our class. They are so miserable. Luckily, Brit is good with kids...otherwise, I would just be pissed trying to teach them. Hope all is well with everyone. Still flyin high!!!

Lead update

So the other day I picked up these girls with my roommate and we went to the fireside. When I introduced myself to the one that I didn't know, she was like, "Oh, Kallie (my lead) talks about you all the time!" I was said, Really? She again said, "Yea she loves talking about you" I inquired and got rejected due to "girl code". I was super stoked. Also, we have been messaging back and forth on Facebook, like the email deals, and they have been really long and good messages just getting to know each other. She is currently traveling all over Europe so we have to use Facebook unfortunately. I have made plans to hang out with her in Provo when I come up in August. Dave and I spoke and decided we should have a BBQ. So we will do that, all the idiots. I want her to meet you guys and you her. She is super rad, she skates, she surfs (not as good as her skating), and she is super solid in the gospel, way down to earth, comes from a good family, really humble, and just has her head on right for an almost 19 year old girl. Just super stoked to have a solid lead.

Surfed Rocky Pt. yesterday, there was a little swell, pretty stoked. I then grabbed my fins and body surfed it. Kings are blowing my mind. Church was AWESOME today. Bore my testimony. Got asked to give a talk next week, asked for someone to home-teach and got made a DL. My Bishop in my meeting with him asked me a simple but profound question that I will pose to you. Why are you a member of the Church? He asked this then told me to ponder it then next week (which was this last week) it struck me very deep. I wrote a few pages in my journal about it. You should try it. It really makes you consider your commitment to Christ. He talked about how the church is a Celestial church, built to get us to the highest degree in the Celestial Kingdom and not anything less. It was an awesome meeting, my Bishop is super rad. Hilarious too, you would all crack up, he's a bit unorthodox at the pulpit, but its still really good. Anyways, wish more of you would post. This is a video of her owning it at the Banzai Skatepark then her mini ramp at her house:

NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs.

So i thought it would be a great gesture if some of us who knew him best could write crall a letter this week. In his  emails home he sounds like he's been a bit discouraged so i think that is something we should do.
Also i don't know if your guys' wives still let you listen to music or not but theres a band called "Imagine Dragons" they are great. you can find em with either iTunes or your nearest music pirating website.
good luck and peace out.

Setlist

The Jarmans, Matt, Joe and I will be seeing Thrice play for one last time next week.  I am so stoked I cannot even begin to describe it.  I looked up the list of songs they've been playing in recent shows and here is the setlist for the show on May 24 in DC.  I'm sure the one here in Utah will be the same or at least very similar.  SO STOKED!!!!!!!!

La'ie Life

This is a view from my daily commute.Taken from my iPhone this morning.

So I took my lead on a date a week ago to a Thai place called Opal Thai were we talked about music, she is keen to some good music and not just "everything, especially chill stuff like jack johnson" which was refreshing.  She has a grown up/mature way about her, though at the end of the day her licence (which is still pretty fresh) says born in 1993 on it. Anyways, after dinner I took her to the Kahuku Golf course hole #3's green and it was a super full moon. I took the guitar, her ipod speakers, and my Blanket made by Navajos.. We sat and played music together. She has a good voice! We then did some Latin dancing in the moonlight. Then we went back to music, and then just talking about life and the gospel. I'm totally enamored by her. Since the date I've skated with her and jammed with her, we even played at an open mic together this past weekend. So she left the Island today and I am not too stoked on that, but I didn't let myself get too attached to her so no harm no foul. She is really awesome. I will come to Provo for a few days before I leave to Israel and hopefully I get to see her. My tentative plans are to move to Provo in January and get a Social Work job to pay off my debt from BYUJ. After that apply to a few grad schools; SDSU, UH, and the U. We will see what happens. currently though, I am happily rockin a beard, going on a month now. GO KINGS!!! Super stoked on how well they are playing.I hyper extended my elbow skating so I am out of the water for a few weeks...I mean I still swim but no surfing or body-surfing heavy shore-break, which isn't too bad cause its summer and there are no waves.

What does that even say?

Ballay Product? I am confused...anyways Emma and I went on our honeymoon cruise to Cabo/Puerto Vallarta and it was rockin! I got drilled and way burnt and now my whole chest/stomach is peeling. Back in Provo now and just working full time until I head back down to San Diego for my internship leever. I head down there June 20th which will be funny, but Emma will be angry. So stoked on the Kings right now...honestly I'm beyond stoked. Oh and not only the Kings, cuz I can't forget to mention KOBE!!!!

This was a good use of time...

My new lead skates way better than me

Her name is Kallie, I have skated her mini ramp for almost a year and she has finally come home from provo so I finally got to meet her, I've know her parents now and have skated with her brothers. We've been skating and hanging out. We'll see, she is way cool, but also 18 almost 19. But I'm not some deal.

Surfing with marty tomorrow.

Well, on sunday i will be in utah. I will probably be trapped in that state for at least 6-8 months. pissed. Im probably going to have to make new friends cause all of you idiots are married now. even more pissed.  I have nothing further to say here although i would like to invite other blog members (nate, tim, etc) to post more frequently. i look at this blog everyday as the only source of laughter in my current life and nobody hardly posts anything which also pisses me off.

Much to post

So I've had some news that i should have posted a while ago.
First: Basil's been in the hospital. He's having some major surgery done; a heart transplant (new engine), kidney rebuild(carburetor), knee adjustment(suspension bushings), stomach replacement(clutch), and several other replacements and such. Super stoked! He should be coming home tomorrow or Saturdee.
Second: We went to dennies a couple days ago and had an awesome time. When we first got there some lady who was completely out of her mind started a conversation with us about our baby. This is how it went.
"How old is your baby?"
-He's six months.
"oh, what's his name?"
-Jackson
Then she procedes to sing the song "Im sorry miss jackson, i am for real. Never meant to make your daughter cry.........She didn't stop there. She sang, very very loudly, the whole chorus and most of the first verse till she forgot the words. Then she asked, "wull, is he your guys's?"
-Yes, he is.
"how old is he?
-uh, he's six months
"oh....so is he a year old yet?
-uh, no, he's six months old.
And this conversation continued on and off throughout most of the meal, till she leaves. Then a crazy man from the bar comes over and says our baby is like the one from the movie Look Who's Talking. Then he starts to quote the movie line for line for like 3 minutes.
Then we had some real winners sitting right behind us talking about how and where they're gonna go get lit. It was prolly one of the funniest meals i've had in a long time.

Rain

It has rained for the past two weeks almost solidly, there are a few hour windows here and there without rain, but SET!! On the bright side, it rained so bad that classes were cancelled on Friday and some of mine are cancelled today. It flooded pretty badly over the weekend.

That's Respect, Matt

Matt, when are you gonna post pictures of your graduation? how big was your graduating class? How did you celebrate? Party at inferno er jst? Tim?

Congrats Matt!

Last week we all met up at the Marriott Center at BYU and watched Matt walk with his graduating class. Such a great ceremony. Well done matt! Those of you in California/Hawaii really missed out. You will do great things in life, Matt. ;)

with French fries "in them"

So maria and I went running the other morning, about two and half miles round trip. We ran to Del Taco and ordered five breakfast burritos with french fries "in them", i ate 3, then ate marias second one which she didn't want to finish. It was awesome, just wish i had some chocolate milk to go with it.

Where is Joe, does he know of the blog even?

stop

i haven't really graduated yet. but i'll invite you next year.

Congrats Matt!

Matt, so stoked that you've graduated! But how come i didn't' get an announcement jonus?

its a leever

I haven't graduated yet Hooze. It's a basic leever used here at BYU for ISYS or Accounting students. Basically I get my Masters degree in 5 years (with only 1 year of Grad school). I am not awarded my Bachelors nor Masters although until I complete the entire program. Therefore since I am going into my last year of school I will be recognized and paying Grad tuition in the Fall 2012/Winter 2013 and will graduate in April 2013.

Hope that clears up any confusion. I hate confusion.

BYU J

SUPER STOKED!!! I'm in the process of applying!

UPDATE

I just wanted to throw out some big ups to all those who came to my wedding. It was literally one of the funnest nights of my life and I am stoked to have been able to share it with the members of the TOT. So Britt and I are in the process of moving into our new place in Provo. Needless to say, it is indeed a process. Respek to Ryan, Tim, Jeffe, and Jesse for helping us move in. YOU WERE A HUGE HELP!!!
So I have about a year or so until I graduate. My classes start on March 13th and I am also in search of a yob. I WILL NOT GO BACK TO WINGERS EVER!!!! I go into the MTC for a teaching evaluation today and I am really hoping that works out because I think it would be a cool yob. If not, then I will prolly work at Del Taco cuz they have delicious breakfast burritahs.

Scaring children

Last weekend was straight BICHIN'!!!!! So good to see everyone again. It really made me want to marry someone from Temec just so I can have a kick ass reception where everyone pretty much knows each other, the reality of that is unlikely though. But I feel that we went buck wild and I think I might have scared those children when I took off my shirt...which will be just fine. It was awesome seeing my family, all my neices and nephews, Jackson is well on his way to the FGB so we will try and get a personal trainer to him when he is old enough to make his own food decisions. Joe was funny, so weird, I don't know if I was that weird...maybe I was. Joe needs to set up his deal so he can post about France and set.

Yesterday I had a good surf at Backyards, it was sunny and OH ES NICE! But now i'm burnt as. Pounders was huge this week, I got my dick ripped off and handed to me plenty of times. I am currently in the Library on Saturday morning about to do my some papers and set, so that sucks, I usually sacrifice one Saturday per semester. As for my leads, the one I had is giving me the small signs that she's not game, so I'm giving it a rest for a while.

Love you all, hope Dad is treating you well.

Big Ups to Nave!

Congrats to the newlyweds Nave and Brittany Jarman! Last weekend was fun and it was good getting together with all the idiots again. Missed you Yustin but your spirit was felt for sure. Getting back out in the water was awesome, and I definitely got plenty of film. Senor Panchos burritahs were heavenly. The sealing was respect, and the reception later was hilarious. I'm glad most of the idiots pulled it together and partook in the dance. Dave post up some pictures of New York after you get back. Stoked for you to get back up here to Provo. Hooze its always good to see you. Good luck finishing off your last semester. It was funny to see Joe again and he is still funny and provided me good amounts of chuckles and laughter. It's good to see that after so many years we all still fly so high!

This is hilarious

Watch this Sheep fall off of a cliff hahaha

hello??

Surprised that after such an eventful weekend that nobody has posted anything yet. What is eervrybody even doing even? So it was prolly cool seeing then surfing with Yoe again. The waves on Monday were similar to Saturday's but a little better and a little less fat. And respect to Navid and Brittany for a rockin wedding. I think it's safe to say that everyone had a great time and had some good eats.

LIfe and Set

So things have been good lately, just work and school and stuff. I played a house show on Sunday and it went really well, super stoked on that. I played Song for Milly Michelson with an organ accompaniment, it was sick. I took some deal on a date, super good date on my behalf, she was super flirty the whole time but she also did some stupid things, like arched her back when I went to rub it, then I said, Oh sorry, she said oh i'm just trying to look at all the stars...yea right. Then I said, do you want to watch a movie at my house or I could take you home? her reply, Oh i'll just go home, I have a hard time watching movies, I have a short attention span...BS!!!! So your telling me that you've never seen the Notebook all the way through??!!!?!?!? I was over the awkwardly dumb white lies, so I haven't spoken with her since. Over it. On the other hand a better lead, Denise. I took this girl on a date last semester, she is SUPER cool!! Just placed a valentine on her bed (homemade), with chocolate and flowers asking her on a date on the big V day. So we'll see how that goes when she finds it. Yea, that's all i have to say for now except:

1. BIG UPS to Nave (not the texan) next week!!! a week from right now I will be flying to San Diego!!!
2. JOE made it a full two years!!!!! First of his siblings to do a FULL term. Soooo stoked to see him!!!!

AT&T needs to burn in Hell

We moved last Saturdee into a 2 bedroom apt within the same complex and needed my internet service transferred. A LONG story short, i have wasted litterally days of time waiting for technicians when i didn't even need one, wasted hours and hours of time talking/yelling at incompetent "customer service" reps, and went 6 days without internet access which also meant no TV (we don't have cable so we stream vids and such through netflix onto our TV). It was the longest 6 days ever.

Anyways, we're stoked to be in our new apt. We have a spare bed now so you idiots are welcome to come stay a few nights (to facilitate in surfing activities) whenever you want (hand motion).

Also, this will prove to be an eventful and exciting month. Pre-congrats to Navid for doing the thing this month. And pre-welcome home to Yoe. Stoked for the both

JOKES

i had a dentist appointment today. Before I went in, I ate a brownie to piss him off

here am i

Hey guys, I thought I'd drop you all a line and say hi. My life is hella busy these days but i'm loving it. Currently I'm working two part time yobs and going to school doing 12 credits. I still work at Great Harvest, but I got another job as a cook at a pizza place here in Provo. If you havent been able to tell, I'm trying to gain respect and approval from the FGB... I can now bake delicious sweets and bread, as well as cook amazing pizza's, pastas, and salads.

Alex and I havent been hanging out with many people lately as a result of our busy schedules, and it's made our social life a little less than exciting. The thing is, we are just focussed on finishing school, making money, and getting on with life. Sometimes we just feel like we're stuck in a rutt here in Utah so we are doing everything we can to get out of here and begin our lives and start a family.

Anyway, Yoe comes home in a few short weeks. CRAZY!!! I cant wait to see that guy and hang out again. I hope you all are doing well and are staying focused on what really matters... Chocolate milk and THEE GIIIRRLLLL!!!!!

Watch this video... Sooo sick
http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=espn:7485167

ALSO: I was watching Storage Wars on TV last night and this guy bought a storage unit with a drum set inside. The bass drum had a Thrice Alchemy Index sticker on it, but he thought the drums belonged to the band Earth Wind and Fire lol. I laughed.

24 KOBE!

Paul,

First off, sweet song, I enjoyed listening to it. Also here is a quote by President Joseph Fielding Smith from the institute manual on that verse:

D&C 84:4. What Is the Meaning of Generation?

President Joseph Fielding Smith wrote: “There have been various interpretations of the meaning of a generation. It is held by some that a generation is one hundred years; by others that it is one hundred and twenty years; by others that a generation as expressed in this and other scriptures has reference to a period of time which is indefinite. The Savior said: ‘An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign.’ This did not have reference to a period of years, but to a period of wickedness. A generation may mean the time of this present dispensation.” (Church History and Modern Revelation, 1:337.)

I believe you are right in that the meaning of generation pertains to this last dispensation. Emma and I are doing great. I turned 24 this past weekend and that was pretty hilarious. Emma took care of me and got me some new mocc's which is rockin! We went out with friends for dinner and then games/cake/dessert afterwards. It has been snowing here this past weekend and today. It sucks and that is stupid. On one last note, I picked up this guy in a wheelchair who was having his dog act like a sled dog and pull him through the snow and ice, and he was stoked that I had a Strung Out sticker on my car. He said that was totally "punk rock" and told me about how his sister just tried to kill herself by shooting herself in the kidney and how that was "hardcore." Yah he was a little out there, but funny.

I recorded a song last night

Pretty stoked about it. Here is the url:

http://soundcloud.com/devvlov/sip

and the lyrics are on my blog.

Other than that things are good. Just busy with school, work, and surfing. I have a lead, she's pretty cool, we'll see though. Her name is Caroline Grochmal, she's from Yorba Linda and says she knows Yessie's wife...doubt it. I don't know, not going to try too hard with this one, seems like when I try it doesn't work, so I'll just do what Sam has been telling me since 2009 and not try to get a girlfriend and then apparently I'll get one. Pretty stoked about that song/jam session with the guy that recorded the song, I'll probably start a band with him. I kinda got faded out of the other one I was in with my friend Aaron, he just stopped calling me when they would practice, kinda lame. So i'm stoked to make music again with this guy Devin and my buddy Justin Chen.

Also, I've been working on my spirituality lately and things have been great! Church has been a good spiritual experience for me each week in 2012. Here is a question I've had for a long time:
In D&C 84:4 it says that "the city of New Jerusalem shall be built by the gathering of the saints, beginning at this place, even the place of the temple, which temple shall be reared in this generation." The question I have is, how long is a generation here, because if it meant a literal generation then this prophecy has not been fulfilled, there has never been a temple built there in Missouri. The answer I've received is that the word "generation" means dispensation in the D&C. What are your thoughts?

Wait...

So Jackson is coming out of the closet?

More News

We'll be moving at the end of this month. We have been offered a 2 bedroom apt in the same complex that we're in now. I'm super stoked cuz Jackson won't have to sleep in the closet anymore. And this is good news for those of you who would like to come spend the night and surf. We'll have an extra bed so don't have to sleep on the floor.

Oh Hi Tim!.....Oh Hi Marty!

Glad to see you're posting now, Tim, and congrats on your fights. Nave and I surfed O-side on Saturday and it was tremendous. It was like 4-6, super clean and uncrowded. Prolly the best part of the surf session was meeting Martin Smith down there and sharing some ridiculously loud laughs. He hasn't changed since we were kids; he cut both of us off at least once, and was really loud, and funny.
Jackson got some immunizations yesterday (3 shots) and was 2P2GAS! He's 14.3 pounds now, which means he has more than doubled his weight in just 4 months, a feet the FGB would only dare to dream of.

BIG UPS TO TIM

This is great news tim, glad to see you on this leever and great to hear your fighting. Well, today is the first day of classes. I had a good time in California, but my first few days back here were straight bitchin'!!! Scored some big waves, body surfed some shore break dads, and skated a sick mini ramp. School is going to be a bit hectic, but its expected for my last semester in the classroom. I'm switching a 6am 3 times a week yogging class for a 7am once a week golf class, so that's great news in my life. A bunch of good friends won't be returning out here so its kinda weird. No leads, not really going to try too hard, still will, but I'm going to focus on school more so I can end well. Love you guys, great to see Nate (and family), Nustin, Nave & gear (not that crall idiot), Nim, Nessie, and Nyan over the break.

Crunch time

Planning for the wedding is coming along just fine. Im stoked for the big day to get here and for everyone to get here. Big ups to Matt and Hooze for being almost done with college and having big time plans.

Wednesday, January 4, 2012

Congrats Hooze

Those are all dope options and im stoked for you to even have options. No matter what you do you will be successful because you are determined. I say your graduation is respect. Sorry I didn't get to see you when you were in CA for a time, but I promise I will see you in February at Dave's wedding leever. Utah winter hasn't been bad at all yet (knock on wood hahahaha) and I hope it stays this way. I hear CA is crazy hot this winter, Doug said like 80-90 degrees today.

My life is prolly good as I enter into my 3rd to last semester here at BYU. It sucks that I have to leave Emma for the summer, but I will be living with her Aunt and Uncle in San Diego during my internship and go home on the weekends to my parents house. Not much else to report on as of right now.

Tuesday, January 3, 2012

Ryan, how about you make a real post and not a complaint

So I have been home for about 2 1/2 weeks now, I leave tomorrow morning to Oahu. Its been awesome, sheila had a baby, I saw Nate's baby, the British deals were staying at my house for most of the time, chilled with Sam and Debbie, surfed with Nate, Dave, Tim, and Ryan. Got to know Dave's future in-laws, I definitely approve of them, their funny. Saw Strung Out, which was freaking AWESOME!! Hung out with Jessie too.

I'm very unsure of my future plans, I walk in April and finish up in July. I might stay out in Hawaii for a bit after, but we'll see. If i meet a solid lead it would definitely help my decision making. My personal options are either:

1. Move to Provo, work, and be in a band with my buddy Aaron
2. Stay in Hawaii and work
3. Move to San Diego and work
4. Go work in Australia

All 4 have grad school after a year or so.

Had fun here in California, but It'll be nice to go back home to Hawaii.
