ART
that was the most inspiring and beautiful story about a surf board that I have ever read. Im freaking stoked for you man!!! I wont have work next Fri...I dunno what you and Nate are doing, but I have to drive my gpa up to Newport for a Doctors appointment and I was thinking of going for a surf while I wait for him (its a long appointment). But Id love to see Candy Ringo in action.
CANDY RINGO
So I took Candy Ringo out this morning with Nate and oh set! At first Ringo seemed a bit stiff and I was worried that he had forgotten how to glide right. Nate put it this way, "dude I tried to just pump like I normally do and he was like no". After we figured out how to ride it a bit the day turned into christmas morning. With those older boards you can't just do those quick pumps and cheap cutbacks. You can cutback and pump but you have to really feel the wave and use some classy cruising style (whole body) to really get him to work right. It was a freaking treat to learn how to surf that way. In the back of my head I have always felt that there was that kind of style out there with these old boards and I have to say that Ive never been more stoked on surfing than I am right now. The board has so much meat on the front end that I was almost on the nose on one wave and almost rid the wave to the shore. I realized that Candy Ringo is full of tricks. Sometimes I just stare at the board and think my, that board is perfect. Anyways when I caught the first wave and got a feel for how Ringo does things where he comes from, I looked to the sky and thanked God for that wave. Nate thinks that this board is a christening of a new life for me. He thinks that from now on my luck is going to change and that Ringo is going to be the lever. I say thats sounds like poetry.

Justin, congrats on that new board. I have a crush on it! Someday when Alex and I move back to California i'm looking forward to building up my quiver with sick boards like that! I'm looking forward to hearing the review of the board.
Jeffe, you'll definitely be in my prayers. I REALLY want you to be sealed in the temple in November. Its the only way to go these days! Good luck in taking care of all the paperwork. It must be a bummer, but it'll be worth it in the end!!!

ATLANTIS, 6'5 X 2 3/4 X 20 1/2
Bought this board for $150 and I'm so stoked to ride it. Ive been wanting a board like this for years and I can't wait to surf it. probably this fridee. The tail is a little thinner than I'm used to but I think I can handle it. I think it will just take some time. When we picked it up we were so stoked the whole way home that nate and I kept looking back at it and laughing all the way home. Never been more stoked for a surfboard in all my days in this land.

Help a brotha out
So if you are not aware, Maria and I are getting married on November 25th. However, because of her previous marriage, we're having to do a lot bull set to get that deal cancelled. It requires a letter from her ex, then two letters are sent to the first presidency, and to hear back can take as little as 3 weeks or as long as several months. But her dushbag of an ex still hasn't returned his letter to her bishop, and since we are two months away from the wedding date, time really is of the essence. So if you could do me a favor and just keep us in your prayers that all will go accordingly and that we will be able to be sealed on the 25th of November.
However, if we don't get the response back in time, we will still have a civil wedding, but of course we are praying and hoping to be sealed on the same day. Cause like I said, there is no time fram, it could be another ten months before we hear back from the first presidency, and we just dont want to wait around that long to be married, so we would just end up getting sealed as soon as we get that response. Any comments, opinions, suggestions are welcomed please, but thanks for the prayers :)

Forgot even
Hey guys. Since we moved from the Flying Idiots blog i've found myself slacking to look at this blog. But I just caught myself up to date and Its good to read all the new stuff going on with you guys. Its been such a different pace of life for me since being married. I dont see the other guys very much at all, and that is partly my fault/my problem and I apologize to the guys up here in Utah. I've been hella busy though. School, work, marriage, and cycling consume my life.
I recently (3 weeks ago) got on the UVU Cycling team and so I've been doing a ton of cycling. We did a 92 mile ride on saturday night around Utah Lake which was prolly good. I'll be competing against about 6 other schools with the UVU team in the spring so I'm trying to get myself in good shape before the cold slows my riding down. Then I'll be riding on trainers at home and with the team to keep my legs strong. Its a sweet deal. We have sponsors and stuff so we get sweet hookups.
Well, that is about the newest and coolest thing thats been going on for me. I hate school and cannot wait to be done and out of Utah. But we will most likely be here for at least another 2 years... but after that I'm freaking outa here.
Stoked for conference this weekend.
Quick story: about a year before he left on his mission we were watching conference together and Joe wouldn't stop making jokes about how President Eyring looked like a toad and joe kept ribbitting like a toad during his talk.
Future Plans in Different Lands
So technically speaking I walk in April, then I need to do a field practicum, so over the summer I will find an agency or organization that I will Intern with. Then i will receive my diploma. So right now i'm thinking of doing my field practicum in one of 4 places:
1. Australia
2. New Zealand
3. Hawaii
4. England
They are in no particular order. But after those three months I am leaning toward coming back to *Hawaii as of right now.
*This could be determined by a strong lead or gear, but as of now I'm planning on taking the fall after my internship to just work, surf my balls off and have a bitchin time
Oh Ok
Hey Navid, let me know how that yob deal works out, and what that Price guy says. And Hooze, I concur with Matt, congradufreakinglations, thats sick that your graduating, im excited for ya, and I second Matts question about what you plan on doing after and where.
Well as for me fellas, I am just under two months from getting married, im freaking stoked. We even found some sort of sweet apartment last saturday in Draper Utah, its about half way between my school and Maria's work, its right off the freeway, has two shopping centers close buy with lots of snacks, and a park right across the street, and a small lake that has lots of ducks right by our building (which could be lots of fun), so I way excited to move in. Although I know its kinda far from a lot of you idiots, but we'll work something out.

Been there, Done that
Nave I know exactly how you feel. It seriously sucks, and most of the time skype just doesnt do it justice. But, it does come to an end and then you will be freaking stoked and getting married!!! Also on your yob search, maybe you could talk to Doug and set up cones, or maybe get the balls out of the storage. That would be hilarious. But yah that pumpkin patch would be funny and I would never buy one from you.
Yustin that board looks doper than his pope and for 175 id say thats prolly good. You could prolly even work him down a little if you have good bargaining strategies.
Hooze congrats on graduating! Thats insane dude. What are your future plans after you graduate? Coming back to the mainland? Where/What are you going to do for work? Stoked for you.
N8 tell your child hi.

TPTGAS + Prolly good = ya
So i'm very angry that Major/Minor has not yet arrived in my mailbox after i pre-ordered it over a month ago.
On a brighter note, i graduate April 14th, 2012!!!!! Super weird. I know its not in any of your budgets but i want to invite all the flying idiots and their wives to come, if you don't that's cool too. My graduation application is due on Friday...crazy.
Trials
So its pretty tough being separated from my fiance...shes been gone for almost a month now and we still have 2 more months to go until she gets back. Im sure that some of you can relate because you were in similar circumstances. But ya, it freaking blows fat goat. Also, the painting business is pretty tough because jobs are becoming more and more sparse. I would have to drive over an hour and a half each way just to work. Hence, I am on the job hunt once again. I go into Ponte winery on Wed. and I am also talking with Trevor Lindahl about old navy...im not one for fashion, but old navy is def not my cup of tea. but hey, its a paycheck i guess. Also, my brother found a lead for working at a pumpkin patch....its $10 an hour and it would be oh so hilarious. hahah. anyways, i miss chillin with you guys. glad we have this blog so we can keep in touch.

Interviews and Life
This week has been insane for me. I have been going to dinners and interviewing with all of the Big 4 accounting firms. When we interview with them we have to have our locations of which offices we want to work in. Just to keep you guys up to date I've been applying for the San Diego or Irvine or LA offices. So if things work out I could be back living in southern california hahahahahaha Respek!
Also big ups to Jeffe gettin on the blog. And respek to nate with that great find.
One more thing, this might be isys, but just gonna throw this idea out there...on Google+ (the social networking site that isnt facebook) you can do what they call a "hangout" where you video chat (skype) with up to 10 people. It would be funny to get whoever has webcams on their one night and just laugh together. Let me know what you guys think. Sign.

GREAT FIND NATE!!!!!
First off we FGB members enjoy subway, but there was a lot of drama with Jared that i don't feel like getting into right now thought so just fax me the address and i will get the word out to those in that local chapter that remain ignorant. Not sure how many know I'm still waiting for their quarterly reports. :)
Thoughts from F.G.B. ?
Found a great lever today!
There is a gas station near my route at which I frequently (prolly twice a week) fill up my Fedex truck. It has a Subway in it and I just found out that every time I fill up my Fedex truck, i get a 100% FREE sandwich from the Subway! Got a turkey one today. All i gotta do is show them the gas receipt, and they ask my what sandwich i want. How sick is that?!

OH MAN IM BEHIND
Totally forgot about this blog but i'm caught up now and I have some thoughts. As far as marriage goes I like that quote that matt brought up I mean any kind of gospel idea that supports my complacency well I'm just all for it (lazy wink). Truth is I just don't feel ready to even make that step right now I don't think I fully understand why since it seems everyones married or trying hard to. I'm not going to make that decision any faster than it feels right. Especially since my parents have split up I feel I have this huge need for the right person. I do have to start trying though.
I think it is so interesting that I was a missionary for two years and I'm just now starting to feel truly independent in the gospel. I've decided that just no matter what I'm going to stick with the church. I need it too bad in my life to fall behind. My dad and I are the only people in my whole family that have stuck with the church and I have to say that it is hard.
Right now I'm in mosiah 23. I was blown away by the story of Abinadi. The message he gives king noah is awesome. He really just lays it all out while knowing he was going to die. This world is so confusing some times especially when forced to contrast good and evil people. How can people be so evil? It is a beautiful thing to see people so righteous that they will lay down their lives for the gospel. They are the real heroes. I want to be like that. I want a testimony that strong.
I've been really into finding new music and ill posting here check them out if you want.
listening to:
the roots - guns are drawn
cage the elephant - shake me down
mattafix - the means
deer tick - these old shoes
radical face - welcome home son
the antlers -kettering

The Fireside
I also attended the CES jonas. I feel a lot of members needed to hear about the tolerance piece because they have so much hate for those who are different than they are. We can still love those who do and believe in things different than the gospel teaches. Obviously we must be careful in how tolerant we become, but I love when he said that there is already enough radicalism in the world and that we must be meek and understanding in our stance for truth. My favorite quote was, "We should no be tolerant with ourselves. We must be ruled by truth." I really enjoyed it and would like to print it out and go over it again.
On my leads, one little hipster chick that i was feeling is kinda hooking up or has a fling with my good friend so that is unfortunate. Other than that just getting as many leads as I can, but i'm not going to stress on it these days, just like Sister Oaks said (which was my favorite part too matt) I'm going to work on being a better disciple of Christ.
Can't wait to hear Major/Minor
Matt is correct
Unfortunately Alex and I were unable to see the conference with Elder Oaks last night, but I heard it was way good. I heard he said some really relevant things for us in this time in life. I'll prolly take matt up on his idea and watch it for FHE tonight.
Also, there is a song on Major/minor called "Words in the Water", and it is one of the most amazing Thrice songs i've heard. The lyrics are all about a book (the bible) that is full of laws and commandments that are just so impossible to live up to. But at the end of the song Jesus comes and lifts our burdens and satisfies the demands of justice. This is why I love Thrice. They know that there is a heavenly plan and that it is only through Christ that we can be saved. So awesome!!!
Elder Oaks
So Emma and I watched Elder Oaks' CES Fireside last night. His wife also spoke. One thing I thought was interesting that she said was, she was talking to the singles of the church (she was single until 53 when she married Elder Oaks after Elder Oaks' first wife passed away)...she said something to the effect of "Do not focus all your efforts on getting married. Focus on being a disciple of Christ." Whether we are married or not, focusing an becoming a disciple of Christ will draw others to us, and I'm sure we will be much happier in life. Elder Oaks (was a Supreme Court Justice) ended his talk about the church and specifically us young adults and the public square. I feel like the world is only getting worse, and he is preparing us that we will have to do lots of petitioning and public standing for what is right. Prop 8 I feel was only the beginning. So yah those were my thoughts, and I'm sure you can re-watch the fireside on www.lds.org for family home evening tonight if you want :)

Just Call Me DAD
Jackson got his foreskin chopped off on Wednesday and was 2p2gas, but they gave us something to put on his johnson to help it heal, to ward off infection, and to make it feel better. Do you know what that magic ointment is?......

Ya, it's Jelly. I have to squeeze a set load of it on every time his diaper is changed.
Seriously guys, it's freaking awesome being DAD, but i am tired. I can't wait for you guys to meet him, he's hilarious.

Dad?
No but seriously Nate is DAD now! Crazy dude, and congrats and the birth of that little child. Jackson should be funny when he grows up. Do you think he will be as artistic as Jacob in The Testaments? "You are a gift of the Gods" Respekt Nate!

2 Nephi 30:17
Dave, In my opinion I think the scripture is referring to how in this world there is nothing that cannot be fixed. Even sealing on Earth can be loosed if it absolutely needed to be. The darkness and light part is talking about how there is no evil that cannot be overcome by goodness. Satan can never have power over the light of God. In the next verse it says how Satan shall no longer have power over the Children of Men. Basically, Satan can only have as much control as we give him. I think that is what the scripture is referring to, but I could be wrong. Just my interpretation.

?
SO what do we do now?? Do we bring up spiritual discussions/questions....if so, I have a question. Im currently finishing up 2nd Nephi and I have been pondering about a certain verse. 2 Nephi 30:17 can be interpreted in so many different ways I think. I know that the chapter in general is describing the restoration of Israel. But when it says that ALL darkness shall be manifested into light, what do you guys think of?? I mean, there are so many terrible things going on in the world right now. Any thoughts???

Pre-mission Joe would be pissed, but i'm not
But I add my stoke to that which has been expressed. I had a great sunday. Talked to my bishop about some stuff, he gave me an assignment, and i asked for a blessing. ! I can't wait to get back to the temple and work there regularly again, might be a week or two but I love working there.
On another note, have a few leads, we'll see what time has to offer :)
I like the Birds
I'm excited about this blog, though i will miss the other one. I had a tremendous Sunday today. I'm reading Jesus the Christ and read the chapter all about the history of the Jews and the house of Israel. It was very interesting. Testimony meeting was great, too. And if you haven't read your Patriarchal Blessing recently, I'd recommend it.
And just to update, the baby isn't here yet; he was due 3 days ago....already a jokester

The start of a new era/jonas
Stoked about this new blog. It'll be different transitioning from the other blog to this one, but i'd say prolly good. So thanks Matt, for starting this up. I'm excited to hear about everyones lives. So has Nate and his gear birthed that child yet???
Welcome ;)
So this new blog will hopefully accomplish these goals:
1. To keep in touch and update one another on our lives while...
2. Edifying one another with family/spiritual/good events happening and...
