JOKES

i had a dentist appointment today. Before I went in, I ate a brownie to piss him off

here am i

Hey guys, I thought I'd drop you all a line and say hi. My life is hella busy these days but i'm loving it. Currently I'm working two part time yobs and going to school doing 12 credits. I still work at Great Harvest, but I got another job as a cook at a pizza place here in Provo. If you havent been able to tell, I'm trying to gain respect and approval from the FGB... I can now bake delicious sweets and bread, as well as cook amazing pizza's, pastas, and salads.

Alex and I havent been hanging out with many people lately as a result of our busy schedules, and it's made our social life a little less than exciting. The thing is, we are just focussed on finishing school, making money, and getting on with life. Sometimes we just feel like we're stuck in a rutt here in Utah so we are doing everything we can to get out of here and begin our lives and start a family.

Anyway, Yoe comes home in a few short weeks. CRAZY!!! I cant wait to see that guy and hang out again. I hope you all are doing well and are staying focused on what really matters... Chocolate milk and THEE GIIIRRLLLL!!!!!

Watch this video... Sooo sick

ALSO: I was watching Storage Wars on TV last night and this guy bought a storage unit with a drum set inside. The bass drum had a Thrice Alchemy Index sticker on it, but he thought the drums belonged to the band Earth Wind and Fire lol. I laughed.

24 KOBE!

Paul,

First off, sweet song, I enjoyed listening to it. Also here is a quote by President Joseph Fielding Smith from the institute manual on that verse:

D&C 84:4. What Is the Meaning of Generation?

President Joseph Fielding Smith wrote: “There have been various interpretations of the meaning of a generation. It is held by some that a generation is one hundred years; by others that it is one hundred and twenty years; by others that a generation as expressed in this and other scriptures has reference to a period of time which is indefinite. The Savior said: ‘An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign.’ This did not have reference to a period of years, but to a period of wickedness. A generation may mean the time of this present dispensation.” (Church History and Modern Revelation, 1:337.)

I believe you are right in that the meaning of generation pertains to this last dispensation. Emma and I are doing great. I turned 24 this past weekend and that was pretty hilarious. Emma took care of me and got me some new mocc's which is rockin! We went out with friends for dinner and then games/cake/dessert afterwards. It has been snowing here this past weekend and today. It sucks and that is stupid. On one last note, I picked up this guy in a wheelchair who was having his dog act like a sled dog and pull him through the snow and ice, and he was stoked that I had a Strung Out sticker on my car. He said that was totally "punk rock" and told me about how his sister just tried to kill herself by shooting herself in the kidney and how that was "hardcore." Yah he was a little out there, but funny.

I recorded a song last night

Pretty stoked about it. Here is the url:

and the lyrics are on my blog.

Other than that things are good. Just busy with school, work, and surfing. I have a lead, she's pretty cool, we'll see though. Her name is Caroline Grochmal, she's from Yorba Linda and says she knows Yessie's wife...doubt it. I don't know, not going to try too hard with this one, seems like when I try it doesn't work, so I'll just do what Sam has been telling me since 2009 and not try to get a girlfriend and then apparently I'll get one. Pretty stoked about that song/jam session with the guy that recorded the song, I'll probably start a band with him. I kinda got faded out of the other one I was in with my friend Aaron, he just stopped calling me when they would practice, kinda lame. So i'm stoked to make music again with this guy Devin and my buddy Justin Chen.

Also, I've been working on my spirituality lately and things have been great! Church has been a good spiritual experience for me each week in 2012. Here is a question I've had for a long time:
In D&C 84:4 it says that "the city of New Jerusalem shall be built by the gathering of the saints, beginning at this place, even the place of the temple, which temple shall be reared in this generation." The question I have is, how long is a generation here, because if it meant a literal generation then this prophecy has not been fulfilled, there has never been a temple built there in Missouri. The answer I've received is that the word "generation" means dispensation in the D&C. What are your thoughts?

Wait...

So Jackson is coming out of the closet?

More News

We'll be moving at the end of this month. We have been offered a 2 bedroom apt in the same complex that we're in now. I'm super stoked cuz Jackson won't have to sleep in the closet anymore. And this is good news for those of you who would like to come spend the night and surf. We'll have an extra bed so don't have to sleep on the floor.

Oh Hi Tim!.....Oh Hi Marty!

Glad to see you're posting now, Tim, and congrats on your fights. Nave and I surfed O-side on Saturday and it was tremendous. It was like 4-6, super clean and uncrowded. Prolly the best part of the surf session was meeting Martin Smith down there and sharing some ridiculously loud laughs. He hasn't changed since we were kids; he cut both of us off at least once, and was really loud, and funny.
Jackson got some immunizations yesterday (3 shots) and was 2P2GAS! He's 14.3 pounds now, which means he has more than doubled his weight in just 4 months, a feet the FGB would only dare to dream of.

BIG UPS TO TIM

This is great news tim, glad to see you on this leever and great to hear your fighting. Well, today is the first day of classes. I had a good time in California, but my first few days back here were straight bitchin'!!! Scored some big waves, body surfed some shore break dads, and skated a sick mini ramp. School is going to be a bit hectic, but its expected for my last semester in the classroom. I'm switching a 6am 3 times a week yogging class for a 7am once a week golf class, so that's great news in my life. A bunch of good friends won't be returning out here so its kinda weird. No leads, not really going to try too hard, still will, but I'm going to focus on school more so I can end well. Love you guys, great to see Nate (and family), Nustin, Nave & gear (not that crall idiot), Nim, Nessie, and Nyan over the break.

Crunch time

Planning for the wedding is coming along just fine. Im stoked for the big day to get here and for everyone to get here. Big ups to Matt and Hooze for being almost done with college and having big time plans.

Wednesday, January 4, 2012

Congrats Hooze

Those are all dope options and im stoked for you to even have options. No matter what you do you will be successful because you are determined. I say your graduation is respect. Sorry I didn't get to see you when you were in CA for a time, but I promise I will see you in February at Dave's wedding leever. Utah winter hasn't been bad at all yet (knock on wood hahahaha) and I hope it stays this way. I hear CA is crazy hot this winter, Doug said like 80-90 degrees today.

My life is prolly good as I enter into my 3rd to last semester here at BYU. It sucks that I have to leave Emma for the summer, but I will be living with her Aunt and Uncle in San Diego during my internship and go home on the weekends to my parents house. Not much else to report on as of right now.

Ryan, how about you make a real post and not a complaint

So I have been home for about 2 1/2 weeks now, I leave tomorrow morning to Oahu. Its been awesome, sheila had a baby, I saw Nate's baby, the British deals were staying at my house for most of the time, chilled with Sam and Debbie, surfed with Nate, Dave, Tim, and Ryan. Got to know Dave's future in-laws, I definitely approve of them, their funny. Saw Strung Out, which was freaking AWESOME!! Hung out with Jessie too.

I'm very unsure of my future plans, I walk in April and finish up in July. I might stay out in Hawaii for a bit after, but we'll see. If i meet a solid lead it would definitely help my decision making. My personal options are either:

1. Move to Provo, work, and be in a band with my buddy Aaron
2. Stay in Hawaii and work
3. Move to San Diego and work
4. Go work in Australia

All 4 have grad school after a year or so.

Had fun here in California, but It'll be nice to go back home to Hawaii.
